Momo loved climbing trees, swinging from branches, and eating sweet fruit.
One morning, he was playing near a mango tree when he spotted a shiny red apple lying on the grass.
“What a beautiful apple!” Momo said.
He picked it up and was about to take a bite when he heard someone calling.
“Oh dear! Where has my apple gone?” said Ellie the Elephant.
Ellie had brought the apple from a nearby village to share with her friends. She had placed it beside a tree while collecting flowers.
Momo looked at the apple in his hands.
He wanted to eat it very much. For a moment, he thought about hiding it behind his back.
Then he remembered what his mother always told him: “Always tell the truth, even when it is difficult.”
Momo walked over to Ellie.
“Ellie, I found this apple on the grass. I picked it up, but I think it belongs to you,” he said.
Ellie's face lit up with happiness.
